Does Repose Accept Insurance? Yes!
Many of our therapists at Repose accept the following insurances in-network that require only the the cost of your copay at the time of service:
Repose is considered out-of-network (OON) with other insurance plans, meaning we do not directly accept other insurance plans.
Understanding Out-of-Network Therapy
When looking for therapy that truly meets your needs, out of network therapy allows access to a wider range of therapists and specialties tailored to your unique situation, free from in-network limitations. This flexibility ensures a deeper connection and personalized treatment for trauma, anxiety, and other mental health concerns, leading to more effective outcomes. Many insurance companies also provide reimbursement for out of network therapy, offering financial benefits while receiving high-quality care. At Repose, we support your individual healing journey with experienced therapists using evidence-based practices. By choose out of network therapy, your’re investing today in your long-term growth and wellbeing.
Working with Repose, an out-of-network (OON) provider, can be more budget-friendly than you might think. Here's why:
Many health insurance plans include OON mental health benefits.
Your insurance may help cover the cost of therapy.
Reimbursement rates typically range from 50% to 90%.
For example, a $200 therapy session, your out-of-pocket cost after reimbursement could be as low as $20 to $100. Don't let concerns about cost prevent you from seeking the mental health support you need. We can also assist you with checking your insurance plan's OON benefits and with claim submissions.

Insurance & Fees FAQ

Repose works with Wellfleet Health Insurance (serving the student bodies at NYU, School of Visual Arts and Sarah Lawrence College) and Aetna of NY. This including Aetna PPO, EPO, HMO, and Aetna Student Health plans.
We are out-of-network providers with all other insurances and offer support to help you get 50-90% reimbursement. We can support you with check ing your benefits to determine how much you can expect to pay for therapy.
-
Co-pays vary from plan to plan; however, with the in-network plans we accept from Aetna and Wellfleet, we find they are usually between $17-$40.
Copays are due at the time of service and are processed via auto-pay.

Like most private and boutique therapy practices in the New York tri-state area, Repose has made the decision to be out-of-network with insurance plans except for Wellfleet Student and Aetna of New York. If we were to accept other insurance plans, we would be essentially working for the insurance company on their terms. They have the right to dictate the number of sessions they cover and reject claims if the diagnosis you’re given isn’t “severe” enough. They would also have permanent access to all of your personal health information. By being out-of-network, Repose works directly and privately for you. This gives us much greater flexibility in terms of our work together and also guarantees a higher level of confidentiality.

Many health insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits, which is when your insurance provider reimburses you for a portion of your therapy session. Our dedicated Client Care Team is available to work with your insurance to help you receive reimbursement and determine your out-of-pocket costs.

You’ll have access to all billing documents anytime you need them through your personal client login to our secure online office. Here are some questions that might be helpful to ask your insurance company:
• Does my plan offer any out-of-network benefits for mental health?
• Do I have a deductible? If yes, how much of it has already been met?
• Are there any limitations on the number of sessions my plan covers for mental health?
• How much will I be reimbursed per visit when I see an out-of-network mental health provider?
• Do I need prior approval or a referral in order to receive reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care?
-
A deductible is the amount you pay for covered health care services before your insurance plan kicks in and starts to pay. For example, with a $500 deductible, you pay the first $500 of covered services yourself. After you meet your deductible, you usually pay only a copayment or coinsurance for covered services. Your insurance company then pays the rest.

Consistency is an essential part of the counseling process and when you schedule an appointment, that time has been specifically reserved for you. If you are unable to keep an appointment, we require 48 hours advance notice or you will be charged for the full fee amount of the canceled or missed appointment by credit card. If you are using Aetna or Wellfleet insurance, you will be charged the full amount that would have been paid by insurance, not just the co-pay. Thank you for respecting our therapists’ time.
